Things We Treat

Carlton Sports & Spinal treat a range of conditions

Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain is a common complaint that can come on quickly from lifting/ bending awkwardly, or can be more long term and slow in onset brought about by poor posture or “wear & tear”. Either way, our practitioners can help to alleviate your back pain by treating dysfunction of the spinal joints and and addressing the commonly associated muscle spasm, strain or weakness.

Headaches & Migraines

Headaches can be both exhausting and debilitating, and many sufferers have poor or no response to medication. Due to many headaches arising from the joints and muscles in your neck and upper back, manual therapy treatment is an effective drug free way of helping to reduce the incidence and severity of both headaches and migraines.

Neck & Shoulder Pain

Similarly to lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain is extremely common and in most cases originates in the joints, discs and muscles. The causes are many, but typically include an awkward sleep or sudden movement resulting in a “locked” neck, chronic poor posture (ie at your desk), whiplash of some kind or even a substandard pillow. Physiotherapists and Osteopaths are renowned for not only treating and alleviating the immediate condition but also finding the root cause for a patient’s complaint and implementing strategies for long term resolution.

Sports Injuries

Osteopaths and Physiotherapists are trained extensively in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all sporting injuries. Why did your injury occur? How can we prevent it from happening again? How do we get you active and well again as quickly as possible? Our practitioners  have the training and expertise to answer these questions for you.

Pregnancy Pain

As many future mums are well aware, pregnancy pain can make a challenging time in their life even more difficult. Lower back pain, pelvic dysfunction and tightness through the rib cage are just some of the conditions that arise during pregnancy. Osteopathy and Physiotherapy are widely recognised as  safe and effective ways of treating pain during this time. As your body undergoes obvious changes, it sometimes struggles to manage them. Our practitioners can assist your muscles and joints to cope as the baby grows, making every-day life that little bit easier.
